About the Shop

A Southtown corner, a row of old chairs, and a simple idea: a barbershop should feel like the best part of your week.

The Third Place

There's home, there's work, and then there's the place in between where you're just a regular. For a lot of San Antonio, that place used to be the barbershop. We're trying to bring it back.

Mission Barber Co. opened on South Alamo with a wall of mirrors salvaged from a shop that closed after forty years, a fresh set of clippers, and a cooler that's never empty. Owner Beto Salazar spent sixteen years behind a chair before he hung his own sign — long enough to know exactly what a neighborhood shop is supposed to feel like, and exactly what the corporate "grooming lounges" get wrong.

No $90 experience fee. No rush jobs to clear the chair. Just sharp work from barbers who do this every day, a cold cerveza or a Topo Chico while you wait, and a cut that ends with a hot lather neck shave and a look in the mirror you'll actually like.

What We Believe

Time Is Respect

You book a time, you get that time. We don't double-stack chairs and we don't make you wait forty minutes past your slot.

Craft Over Hype

Sharp fades, clean lines, honest shaves. We'd rather be the best cut in Southtown than the trendiest.

Everybody's Welcome

Kids, abuelos, first-timers, regulars. If you've got hair and thirty minutes, you've got a chair here.

Inside the Shop

A few corners of the place. Swap these for real photos of the shop, the chairs, and the work.

Come see it for yourself.

Rooted in Southtown

We're proud to be part of this neighborhood — between the murals and the taquerías, a short walk from the missions that gave us our name. Shop local, tip your barber, and we'll keep the chair warm and the lines straight.
